The first thing you will notice when you arrive at Rigg House are the incredible and inspiring views. The exterior of the building hasn’t changed much in over 250 years, settled in the Kirkconnel hills you get a sense of timelessness from this building. This grand old Farmhouse is traditional inside but with modern comforts - rest and relax with a book or film before sleeping on fine Egyptian cotton sheets. All our rooms boast private bathrooms, flat screen television, tea and coffee making facilities. We pride ourselves on our service and our mission is to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Jay, Alice, Autumn and Sidney offer you a warm welcome to Rigg House B&B. We moved here from Manchester in the summer of 2017 and it was definitely the best decision we ever made! After years of city life the peacefulness of Rigg House is just what we needed and we love being able to share this grand country house with our guests. We love outdoor pursuits and can recommend lots of great places for walking, mountain biking, cycling or just a gentle stroll. Upper Nithsdale has so many hidden historical treasures and beauty spots. Drumlanrig Castle and estate offers fishing, shooting, mountain biking and tours of the castle and gardens. Wanlockhead is stunning for walking or cycling and has a narrow gauge railway and a fascinating mining museum. Or explore the ruined castle and the tolbooth museum at Sanquhar to learn the fascinating history of this area. Just up the road lies Crawick Multiverse - Charles Jencks’ open air ‘Artscape’ has transformed an old open cast coal mine into an other-worldly experience. All of these attractions are within a 20 minute drive away.
